I took a literal approach to making a website as a puddle because I wanted to evoke something more physical and interactive. The picture background is somewhat of a happy accident- that photo in its entirety includes part of a building but I needed to make sure it fit in a landscape orientation which cropped most of the image out. Suffice to say, I like it more as it turned out. The chimney breaks the negative space that is the background and splits the page in half. I like how it reminds the viewer that it is, in fact, a website- something manufactured and surreal to an extent, especially in the context of the natural world.
